Allied Vision Extended Range InGaAs Sensors for Goldeye Cameras

Allied Vision is launching four new Goldeye SWIR camera models equipped with extended range InGaAs sensors, which can detect wavelengths up to 1.9 μm or 2.2 μm at high quantum efficiencies. The integrated dual-stage sensor cooling (TEC2) and several on-board image correction features are key factors to make specific spectral features visible with outstanding image quality.

Allied Vision Extended Range InGaAs Sensors for Goldeye Cameras

Goldeye XSWIR cameras reveal  material properties in the wavelength range above 1.7 μm. By sensing further into the infrared range, more unique spectral features can be detected to better distinguish between different materials. This is especially important for sorting applications or to determine material concentrations in composites. Main application fields are, for example: Waste recycling, water content (moisture) detection, identification of foreign objects or contaminations, and laser beam profiling. With the new Goldeye XSWIR models, Allied Vision’s Goldeye camera series now covers the wavelength range from 0.4 μm (Goldeye VSWIR) to 2.2 μm (Goldeye XSWIR).

The Goldeye G/CL-034 XSWIR features lnGaAs focal plane arrays with 15 µm pixel size that are either sensitive in the wavelength range from 1.1 μm to 1.9 μm or 1.2 µm to 2.2 µm. At VGA resolution (636 x 508 pixels), these cameras achieve 303 frames per second. The same spectral ranges are supported by the Goldeye G/CL-008 XSWIR models incorporating a focal plane array with QVGA resolution at 30 µm pixel size that can be operated up to 344 fps at full resolution (320 x 256 pixels).

All models will be provided with GigE Vision (G) or Camera Link (CL) interface. First evaluation test samples with GigE interface are available.

IDS USB3 Cameras

Anyone who needs readily available industrial cameras for image processing projects is facing a difficult task due to the worldwide chip shortage. IDS Imaging Development Systems GmbH has therefore been pushing the development of alternative USB3 hardware generations with available, advanced semiconductor technology in recent months and has consistently procured components for this purpose. Series production of new industrial cameras with USB3 interface and Vision Standard compatibility has recently started. Customers can choose the right model for their applications from a total of six construction variants and numerous CMOS sensors in the CP and LE camera series of the uEye+ product line.

IDS USB3 Cameras

The models of the uEye CP family are particularly suitable for space-critical applications thanks to their distinctive, compact magnesium housing with dimensions of only 29 x 29 x 29 millimeters and a weight of around 50 grams. Customers can choose from global and rolling shutter sensors from 0.5 to 20 MP in this product line. Those who rather prefer a board-level camera should take a look at the versatile uEye LE series. These cameras are available with coated plastic housings and C-/CS-mount lens flanges as well as board-level versions with or without C-/CS-mount or S-mount lens mounts. They are therefore particularly suitable for projects in compact equipment manufacturing and for integration into embedded vision systems. IDS initially offers the global shutter Sony sensors IMX273 (1.6 MP) and IMX265 (3.2 MP) as well as the rolling shutter sensors IMX290 (2.1 MP) and IMX178 (6.4 MP). More sensors will follow.

The USB3 cameras are perfectly suited for use with IDS peak thanks to the Vision Standard transport protocol USB3 Vision®. The Software Development Kit includes programming interfaces in C, C++, C# with .NET and Python, as well as tools that simplify the programming and operation of IDS cameras while optimizing factors such as compatibility, reproducible behavior and stable data transmission. Special convenience features reduce application code and provide an intuitive programming experience, enabling quick and easy commissioning of the cameras.
