DÜRR NDT Digital X-ray Detectors

Shortly after the launch of the D-DR 1025B NDT, the D-DR 1043B NDT joins the family of bendable X-ray detectors for industrial radiography. The D-DR 1043B NDT is designed for weld inspection on objects with large diameters to cover a wider area and save time due to fewer exposures. With an active area of 97 x 427 mm, you can inspect the weld of a 300 mm pipe with as few as 3 exposures.

DÜRR NDT Digital X-ray Detectors

Both detectors can be bent continuously from flat to a 150 mm respectively 300 mm diameter in one direction, with exposures possible on both sides. A simple mounting system allows the detectors to be easily attached to a pipe with 2 straps and then rotated along the weld seam.

With a pixel pitch of 99 µm, a basic spatial resolution (SRb) of 100 µm is achieved, making them perfectly suited for weld inspection in accordance with DIN EN ISO 17636-2 (Class B). Due to the bendability, typical applications are pipeline, tank and vessel inspections, but also weld seam inspections on straight objects are possible, as the detector can also be used in a flat position.

Thanks to the integrated shielding, the detectors are suitable for X-ray sources up to 450 kV, with a maximum frame time of 180 seconds. As they are dust-tight and waterproof (IP67), battery-powered and have wireless data transmission, they are well prepared for tough applications in the field.

Bendable detectors can replace conventional X-ray films in a wide range of industries, from oil and gas to power generation, chemicals and aviation, and optimize inspections through fast image acquisition and software-assisted analysis.

Like all digital X-ray systems from DÜRR NDT, the bendable detectors are also operated with D-Tect X inspection software. Special and easy-to-use functions such as multi-gain calibration always ensure the highest possible image quality. Powerful and intelligent tools, such as the X-filter for fast image optimization, make image evaluation simple and efficient.

Teledyne Z-Trak 3D Apps Studio Software

Teledyne DALSA introduced Z-Trak™ 3D Apps Studio, a suite of software tools developed for in-line 3D machine vision applications. Designed to work with Teledyne DALSA’s Z-Trak family of laser profilers, it simplifies 3D measurement and inspection tasks on production lines. Capable of handling 3D scans of objects with varied surface types, sizes and geometric features, Z-Trak 3D Apps Studio is ideal for factory automation applications across a wide range of industries including electric vehicles (EV batteries, motor stators etc.), automotive, electronics, semiconductors, packaging, logistics, metal fabrication, lumber, and many more.

Teledyne Z-Trak 3D Apps Studio Software

Z-Trak 3D Apps Studio features streamlined tools for measuring object thickness, inspecting glue-beads, weld seams, and identifying defects on flat, inclined, and curved surfaces on machined, assembled, or extruded parts. It also includes anchoring and data enhancement features like reflection elimination to ensure reliable and repeatable results under diverse operating conditions.

Teledyne’s Z-Trak family of laser profilers features various multi-sensor topologies to enhance the field of view while preserving height resolution, to overcome occlusion, or to provide a 360° view of objects for inspection and measurements. Z-Trak 3D Apps Studio simultaneously acquires, processes, and analyzes 3D scans and 2D gray scale images (reflectance data) all with 3D visualization capabilities.

For easy integration and quick deployment, the Z-Trak 3D Apps Studio is accessible via Sherlock 8.30 (or higher), a field proven, no-code, graphical development environment for factory floor applications. Z-Trak 3D laser profilers include a Sherlock 8 license for in-line measurement applications.

Starrett AVR400 Vision Metrology System

The L.S. Starrett Co. has expanded its AVR Vision Metrology Line with the introduction of the AVR400 CNC Vision System, the largest benchtop platform to date from Starrett with stage travel that is twice the speed of previous Starrett AVR models. The stage travel is 15.8"x 11.8"x 7.9" (400mm x 300mm x200mm) in the X-Y-Z axes with a speed of up to 120mm/ sec.

Starrett AVR400 Vision Metrology System

The Starrett AVR400 offers full CNC capabilities including X-Y-Z positioning and comprehensive zoom and telecentric lens options. Users can also choose to use motorized manual positioning via a pendant with a joystick and track ball. Equipped with the M3 software package from MetLogix™, a traditional mouse as well as a touchscreen monitor make user interaction easy and intuitive.

Auto part recognition enables creating a part measurement program that comprises the desired features of a part for inspection, which can automatically be saved in the system or to a network. Programmable light output options can be built into the program as defined steps, including being called up as the part recognition program initiates. Once the program is created, placing that part within the camera’s field-of-view allows for the saved program to initiate and run the inspection. A Renishaw Touch Probe may also be utilized for quick acquisition of discreet points along a part’s profile as well as Z-axis measurements.

For high stability, the AVR400 features a granite base. An extensive line of accessories is available including a modular system workstation on rolling caster wheels, providing convenient repositioning on the shop floor and in QC labs. The AVR400 Vision Metrology System is Made in the U.S.A.
