Teledyne FLIR Lepton Thermal Camera Series

Teledyne FLIR announced the Lepton UW, a micro-thermal camera module with an ultrawide 160-degree field of view (FOV) that is small enough to fit on the tip of a finger. The new ultra-wide module provides unbeatable size, weight, and performance for applications requiring a wide field of view, including fire detection, process monitoring, and people counting.

Lepton UW features a usable 120 x 120 thermal resolution and a scene dynamic range of up to 400 degrees Celsius. Like the entire Lepton family, it also features unmatched thermal sensitivity of <50 mK and the same integrated digital thermal image signal processing capabilities that have made Lepton the best-selling micro-thermal camera module in the world. Customers will continue to receive Lepton products quickly and efficiently, backed by the world's largest uncooled micro-thermal camera manufacturing capacity, all located in the United States. 

For people counting, Lepton UW provides a unique dataset that is not susceptible to overcounting through glass while also maintaining personal privacy. When combined with building automation software, the Lepton UW can help facility managers better optimize and automate energy usage, occupant comfort, and workspace management.

Smart Vision Lights (SVL) introduces the JWL150-DO Lightgistics Series light, now with Hidden Strobe technology, which delivers the benefits of strobing without the distraction and disorientation associated with LED strobe lights.

Hidden Strobe technology allows LEDs to internally self-trigger thousands of times per second, pulsing faster than the human eye can perceive and creating the illusion of continuous light. The technology maximizes machine vision systems while protecting employees from the disorientation caused by flashing lights.

Designed specifically for performing challenging high-speed, accurate barcode reading and optical character recognition (OCR) with packages in highly reflective plastic wraps or shipping bags, Lightgistics lights feature Dual OverDriveTM technology — which combines SVL’s Deca OverDriveTM and standard OverDriveTM engines and allows end users to attach polarizers that retain exceptional light output while handling any speed.  

The JWL-150-DO delivers an intense, compact light source with an integrated camera mount that can be directly connected and controlled through a camera’s trigger output. The JWL150-DO features an onboard charging capacitor designed to ensure powerful bursts of energy with a low consistent electrical draw. The IP65-rated bright field operates using a working distance of 500 mm up to 2000 mm; 10-, 14-, and 30-degree lens options; and built-in Multi-Drive technology that provides both continuous operation and OverDriveTM mode.

Emergent Vision Technologies PACE LR-4KG35 10GigE Line Scan Camera

Emergent Vision Technologies introduces a new 10GigE line scan camera, the PACE LR-4KG35. Through its 10GigE SFP+ interface, the camera reaches a top single line rate of 172KHz.

The LR-4KG35 line scan camera features the 4Kx2 Gpixel GL3504 CMOS image sensor, with a 3.5x3.5µm pixel cell size and a 14.336 mm sensor scanning width. Both GigE Vision and GenICam compliant, the camera allows cable lengths from 1M up to 10KM without the need for costly fiber converters/repeaters.

The LR-4KG35 10GigE line scan camera also provides both 8-bit and 10-bit modes with 4Kx2 resolution and a dynamic range of 66 dB. Available in both monochrome (LR-4KG35-M) and color (LR-4KG35-C) versions, the cameras can be used with Windows 7, 8, and 10 and Linux (64 bit) operating systems for maximum compatibility. The PACE LR-4KG35 10GigE camera delivers high-speed, low-noise image capture at 4K vision to ensure that all inspection, sorting, and production control requirements are met. While currently supporting the GigE Vision Streaming Protocol (GVSP), the LR-4KG35 camera — like all Emergent cameras — is RDMA (remote direct memory access) ready.

Designed to allow end users to get the most out of their GigE Vision cameras, Emergent’s network interface cards (NICs) are offered in 10GigE, 25GigE, and 100GigE models. These NICs deliver optimal performance for any video stream with minimal system memory utilization, along with low-latency and low-jitter capabilities. The NICs also feature real-time, front-panel 5 V TTL trigger input for added flexibility, support for GVSP and for Windows and Linux operating systems, GPUDirect technology, and camera multiplexing and multicasting with switches.
